Accra, July 27, GNA – The Trades Union Congress on Wednesday announced the death of Mr A.M. Issifu, former Secretary-General of the labour body.
A statement signed by Mr Kofi Asamoah, Secretary-General of the TUC, said Mr Issifu died on July 22 after a protracted illness. He was 88.
He has since been buried at Koforidua under Muslim tradition. Funeral rites will be announced later.
Mr Issifu was Secretary-General from 1972-1982.
