DFP in Greater Accra supports party’s talks with NDC

Accra, July 25, GNA – Leadership of the Democratic Freedom Party (DF= P) in the Greater Accra Region has resolved to support the efforts of the leadership of the party led by Dr Obed Asamoah to engage in talks with the National Democratic Party (NDC).

A statement signed in Accra on Sunday by Mr Nikoi Addison, Regional Chairman, said the decision came up at a meeting of regional executives and constituency chairmen in Accra.

“The NDC is one of the strongest political parties in the country, a= nd there is nothing wrong in having talks with the party just in much the same way that the leadership took the decision on our behalf during the round-of= f in the 2008 Presidential elections for the DFP to support Nana Akuffo-Addo, the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party,” it said. The statement said those who disagree with the leadership in the current situation were entitled to their views but 93everybody knows that those opposed to it constitute an insignificant minority, given the fact that the ugly noises are coming from an individual based in one region.” It noted that an overwhelming majority of party members support the move and urged the leadership to go on and conclude discussions.
