Assembly approves GH¢1,677,052.61 for on-going projects

Bibiani (W/R), July 22, GNA – The Bibiani-Ahwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly has approved GH¢1, 677,052.61 for the completion of a number of on-going development projects.

These include school blocks, markets, health and sanitation facilities at Bibiani, Ampenkrom, Subri, Asawinso, Adupri, Ankra-Muano, Akaaso and other communities.

Mr Adansi Bondah, District Chief Executive (DCE), who disclosed these at an ordinary meeting of the assembly at Bibiani, indicated that part of the money would go into counterpart funding of some donor supported projects and HIV/AIDS and malaria control programmes and sponsorship of packages for students.

He appealed to the people to pay their taxes promptly and regularly to enable the assembly get more money for development.

Mr Bondah said computers and their accessories would be supplied to the Finance and Budget Office of the assembly for efficient data collection to aid accurate revenue projections.

He appealed to the people to support the Assembly to bring socio-economic progress to the people.
