NDC successful congress sign of 2012 victory – Upper East NDC

Bolgatanga, July 16, GNA – The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) successful congress in Sunyani is a clear indication of victory in 2012, the party’s communication team in the Upper East Region has said.

The communication team stated in a press statement it issued at Bolgatanga at the weekend to congratulate Professor John Evans Atta Mills for his landslide victory.

“It was so successful that it sent shivers down the spine of the NPP and their flagbearer because with this successful Congress of the NDC and many other virtues of the NDC and the President, our flagbearer, 2012 is done for the NDC. The statement signed by Mr Amos Awinsor, leader of the team, said members of the Party would not however be complacent but work tirelessly to ensure that the party retains power come 2012. It expressed its deepest gratitude to the delegates for their show of maturity and good thinking by overwhelmingly endorsing the president to lead the party to victory.

“We also wish to say a big thank you to our mother, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and her campaign team for accepting the verdict of the congress and promising to support the president to execute the Better Ghana agenda and the 2012 campaign”.

The statement, however, stated: 93There were real issues that were brought to light as the President rightly acknowledged in his victory speech, which need special attention and redress before the 2012 campaign can be waged with the needed grass root enthusiasm it deserves, this must be done as a matter of agency”.

On Dr Obed Asamoah’s return to the party, the statement called on the leadership of the NDC to be cautious and make sure his comeback was genuine in order to avoid the unexpected.

It said the action and inaction of Dr Obed Asamoah and the group that broke away from the NDC caused a lot of difficulties for the party.
