Ghana Marks world population Day

This year world population day has been observed in Ghana by the national population commission , and various stakeholders including the Ministry of women and children affairs the UNFPA, members of parliament, and the general public. In his welcome address to this years world population day , Dr Andrew Arkutu Chairman of of the national population council, used the occassion and launch series of activities leading to the world at 7 billion on octomber31 2011 Dr Arkutu who explain the team of this years population day tagged THE WORLD AT SEVEN BILLION and he said Ghana has chosen it own team as Ghana in a world of seven billion ans made mention of the fact that the nation ought to consider and find answers to by way of policy or programe interventions . Rev Dr Fred Deegbe general secretary christian council of Ghana who gave the key not address also made mention to the fact that ,population dynamics are central to development and must ofn necessity be an integral part of development planning.

Rev Deeegbe added by emphasising that the millennium development goals MDGs, especially the eradication of poverty and hunger
