President Mills elected NDC Flag Bearer for Election 2012

Sunyani, July 9, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills was on Saturday elected to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into Election 2012. He received 96.9 per cent of the valid votes cast at a special delegates congress held in Sunyani.

He polled 2,771 votes while Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, his opponent, garnered 90 votes, representing 3.1 per cent of the 2,861 valid votes cast. Five of the ballots were rejected.

In his acceptance speech, President Mills urged members of the Party to put the primary election behind them and to forge ahead with a united front to win Election 2012.
