MountCrest University College receives accreditation

Accra, June 30, GNA – MountCrest University College at Kanda in Accra has been granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Board to run programmes in Law, Health Services Management and Public Health at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels commencing from September, this year.

A statement signed by Mr Kwaku Ansa-Asare, Proprietor of the College in Accra on Thursday said it was affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The College is a privately-owned, secular institution and co-educational with merit-based access.

“It is the first private University College to mount a Law programme at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels”, the statement added.

The statement said the College was mandated to be a teaching, research and service institution, provide facilities for higher education including but not limited to technological and professional education for research an= d for advancement and dissemination of knowledge.

In addition, it would cooperate with other bodies in the planned development of higher education and sustainable environmental practices nationally and globally as well as conduct examinations for granting degrees, diplomas, certificates and other awards.

The University College would be opened for admission and instructions on Friday, September 23, 2011.
