Tem Police caution Public against Criminal Acts

Tema, June 24, GNA – The Tema Regional Police Command has warned criminals operating in the Region to put a stop to the practice or face the wrath of the Service if caught.

The warning was contained in a press statement released to the Ghana News Agency, on Friday, and signed by Chief Inspector Olivia Turkson, Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Chief Inspector Turkson stated that, information reaching the Command indicated that some group of criminals, made up of young boys, usually operated in pairs on motor bikes.

The statement said, the boys attack unsuspecting people with objects, such as machetes, pen knives, and other sharp implements, and snatch their victims’ bags.

The PRO said 93the Regional Command wishes to sound a strong warning to these criminals, who are operating in Tema lately, using the above mentioned “modus operandi,” to either put an end to it, or face the wrath of the Police.”

Chief Inspector Turkson also called on the public to immediately inform the Police about any suspicious persons on motor-bikes within their vicinities.

The statement also advised all house-holds to ensure that exit doors through their kitchens and back gates were safely locked, before going to bed.

It explained that recent house burgled cases received by the Command indicated that robbers and thieves used such exit doors to gain access into houses to steal.

The statement also informed the public to immediately call the Police for assistance when unknown people or those with doubtful identities, who knocked at their doors at night.

Chief Inspector Turkson gave the assurance that the Regional Command was going to give protection and security to residents within the Metropolis.
