Elevator traps four people in Sunyani

Sunyani, June 22, GNA – Three young men and a lady got trapped in an elevator in the six-storey Cocoa House in Sunyani as a result of power fluctuation on Tuesday afternoon. It took security men more than 20 minutes to manually open the elevator and rescue them.

An eyewitness told the Ghana News Agency that as soon as the four people entered the elevator power went off. The eyewitness said about a month ago someone got trapped in the elevator but power was restored in less than five minutes to save the situation. Some occupants of the building the GNA spoke to called for an automatic stand-by generator.
