Community appeals for junior high school

Bredi (Ash), June 17, GNA – The chiefs and people of Bredi in the Atw= ima

Mponua District have appealed to the authorities to provide them with a junior high school. Mr David Nkrumah, Chairman of the local child labour committee, said th= e

present situation where the children made a round trip of about 21 kilometres daily to attend JHS at Ahiresu was a big disincentive. “They always return from school late and exhausted, making it difficult for them to study in the evening,” he said. He said many of the parents had been forced to buy bicycles for their children. He expressed their readiness to make land available and provide labour for the school project, given funding and approval by the Ghana Education Service. 17 Jan 11
