Farmer jailed for threatening to kill teacher

Nyinahin (Ash), June 17, GNA – A 37-year old farmer at Akwabraso near Nyinahin, who threatened to kill a teacher he suspected of being in a relationship with his wife has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by a Nyinahin Magistrate Court.

Kwaku Asamoah pleaded guilty to the offence.

Police Detective Inspector Osei Boadi told the court presided over by Mr Sam Magida Nibi that, the complainant, Godfred Adjei, is a teacher and lives in the same Akwabraso community with the convict.

For some time now, Asamoah has been accusing Adjei of sleeping with his wife.

The prosecution said on Monday, May 30, at about 2130 hours, convict, armed with a knife, forcibly opened the door to the room where the teacher was sleeping and attempted to attack him.

He raised the alarm and this attracted other occupants in the house, who went to his aid.

Asamoah managed to flee the village but was later arrested at Nkawie.
