Paul Acquah Appointed New Governor of BOG

President Kufuor in consultation with the Council of State has appointed Paul Acquah, a Deputy Director at the African Department of the International Monetary Fund(IMF) as Governor of the Bank of Ghana. His appointment takes effect from the first of next month.

A statement signed by Government Spokesperson, Elizabeth Ohene says Mr Paul Acquah takes over from the current Governor, Kwabena Duffour who completes his term at the end of this month. Government, last month, announced that Dr. Duffour, has decided not renew his contract when the current term ends, hence the appointment of a new Governor.
