FOTHAT is a youth group made up of former TESCHART heads from the various tertiary institutions. TESHART is the youth wing of the CPP in our tertiary institutions but its voice has been silent for some time now.

Being former heads of this organization with good standings in our party, we are forced to come up with this release at this crucial time to register our strongest displeasure and resistance to recent statements made by the SANKOFA CPP MOVEMENT, indicating their pre-empted support to the flag-bearership of President Mills of the NDC in the 2012 general elections.

We are of the opinion that if such treacherous statements are allowed to be made with impunity, then our party is quickly but surely drifting into disarray and likely to find itself in a shambolic arena.

It is most unfair and shocking to note that an imprecise group like ‘SANKOFA CPP MOVEMENT’, which has the backing of high ranking members of our party, makes such reckless comments. It is surprising to realise that the very people, who have openly expressed assorted interests in taking up positions in the party at the up-coming congress, are the same people playing this mischievous tactic, just to satisfy the demands of their sponsors in the NDC and virtually increase their lobbying power, if eventually NDC wins power in 2012; which will surely not happen. We wonder what sort of positive transformation they claim to bring into the party, when they have already made their intentions known to us that, they do not have the party at heart.

Such irresponsible statements seek to project the party as a not-serious political organisation that is looking for power. We therefore demand that the SANKOFA CPP MOVEMENT and their sponsors must be made to retract their support for Prof. Mills and banned from operating in the name of the CPP.

Signed:
Fuseini Abdul Fataw
(FOTHAT Secratary)
