“Reverend Minister” remanded for stealing

Hohoe, May 26, GNA – David Brightman, the Chairman of the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) of the Hohoe Municipal Experimental School, has been remanded into prison custody by a Hohoe Circuit Court for stealing. Brightman pleaded not guilty to the charge and would re-appear in on June 01.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Benjamin Dadzie told the court that during the 2008/2009 academic period, PTA Executives caused an audit into the finances of the Association and detected a shortage of GHc 1,400 and told Brightman to refund the amount.

Mr Dadzie said a case of embezzlement was instituted against suspect, leading to his arrest on September 13, 2010.

He said suspect broke his promise after he negotiated with the Police to be given time to redeem his indebtedness.

Brightman has refunded GHc 200, which the court ordered to be given to the PTA.
