Africa Day celebrations in Ireland

Agooo Ghanaba,

The Africa Centre is organising activities for this year’s Africa Day celebrations. The event takes place this Saturday 21st May 2011 from 10am to5pm. The venue is the Old Belvedere Football and Rugby Club, 28A, Anglesea Road, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.

The day commences with a 5 a side soccer tournament, which is followed by 12noon with a family day event, at which African Embassies, community groups and organisations will be having their information and display stands. We are inviting all Ghanaians to come and display the national and traditional colours of our home land Ghana, Red – Gold – Green as well as Kentes, Fugu, Agbadah and what have you. Look shard and sweet your dresses, Ghana all the way. We have been silent for so long, so let us all come out in our numbers and showcase-what constitute a Ghanaian.

Fellow countrymen & women, let’s use this opportunity to come together in unity, peace and in love. Although it’s a cultural funfair, it’s also a family day out. There will be live Ghanaian music, drumming and dancing. Come with the children/youth and let’s help make our young ones proud and happy.

We encourage those in tourism, cultural and traditional business (food, cloths, drums, artefact and more) to come, display their products and also to beautify the Ghanaian stand. Our rich Ghanaian Culture is second to none. Ghana, we are the Best.

We would like the Ghanaian groups to represent Ghana with one stand. Please contact other groups so that a united front can be showcased to represent Ghana.

If you have any other questions regarding the African Day Celebrations, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Eric Yaw of African Centre. Tel. 0863138738 (Vodafone)

Thank You Ghanaba

Best Regards and God bless you all.
