Teshie residents say flooding in the area has reduced

Accra, May 19, GNA – Some residents of Teshie and surrounding areas on Thursday indicated that flooding in the area had reduced drastically as compared to the past. During a visit to the area by the Ghana News Agency, following dawn rains, some residents said the rains this year had been fair to them because they had not experienced any massive flooding.

Ms Roberta Mensah, a resident of Teshie, said in the past the people were faced with perennial flooding, sometimes destroying properties but this year’s flooding had been moderate. She noted that since there had not been much rains and for a few minutes, they were comfortable. Ms Mensah, however, noted that the road from Accra to Teshie was in a deplorable state creating inconvenience to motorists, who ply the road. She appealed to government to expedite action on the rehabilitation of the road.
