District Assembly builds court and accommodation for magistrate

Daboase, May 17, GNA – The Mpohor Wassa East District Assembly has built a magistrate court and residential accommodation for the district magistrate at a cost of GHC150, 000.

The facility, which falls under the Medium Term Development Plan of the district, was financed through the District Assembly Common Fund and the DDF.

Mr. Evans Mark Andoh, District Budget Analyst, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the objective of the development plan was to address inequalities in access to basic social services and poverty reduction.

The assembly had also put up a police post at Daboase.

The development plan of the district focuses on seven main areas: Ensuring and sustaining macroeconomic stability, enhancing competitiveness in Ghana’s private sector, Agriculture modernization and natural resources management, transparent and accountable government.

The rest are Water and Sanitation, Housing and settlement planning, roads and Human development, productivity and employment as well as population management, health, HIV and AIDS and Malaria.

The assembly is expected to spend close to GH¢ 40, 808.762 between 2010 and 2013 on the development plan.
