Journalists’ Ethics Committee Supports Bribery Allegation Probe

The Ethics Committee of the Ghana Journalists Association has welcomed a decision by management of New Times Cooperation, Publishers of the Ghanaian Times to investigate charges of bribery against William Fayorsey, a reporter of the Ghanaian Times.

Fayorsey is alleged to have demanded a bribe from Mr. Jakdish Lakhiani, Managing Director of Blowplast in order to drop a story of harassment of an employee.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Mrs. Frances Ademola yesterday said in view of the persistent enquiries from members of the public for a probe into the matter, the Committee stands by the decision of the management of News Times Corporation.
