Thomspon is NPP parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast

Cape Coast, April, 30, GNA- Mr. Alfred George Thompson was on Saturday elected as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast, for the 2012 General Election. Mr. Thompson had 198 votes out of 626 votes cast at the party’s parliamentary primaries at Cape Coast, to defeat four other candidates.

They were Madam Christine Churcher, who had 148 votes, Dr. Henrietta Abane, who had 163 votes, Mr. Arthur Dadzie, who had 92 votes and Mr. John Kwesi Sagoe, who polled 23 votes.

A total of 641 delegates were eligible to vote but two of them failed to turn up at the election, which was conducted by the Central Regional Electoral Commission. There were two invalid votes.
