Police personnel asked to help redeem the image of the service

Winneba, April 27, GNA – Deputy Commissioner of Police Alhaji Hamidu Mahama, the Director General, Human Resource Development, has called on personnel of the Ghana Police Service to discharge their duties effectively to build a good image for the service. He said this at the close of the third and final batch of “Sergeants to Inspector assessment course” at the Winneba Police Training School.

Mr Mahama said the training was a confirmation of the determination of the Police Administration to sharpen the skills and performance of its personnel through regular training and retraining programmes.

He said the Police Service was expecting that police personnel would demonstrate new skills acquired at the course. “Go out and be instruments of change, positively influence your colleagues and subordinates as part of efforts to redeem the image of the service”.

Mr Mahama said criminal elements who had entered the Service should find their way out before the Service caught up with them because they would be exposed and dealt with.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Samuel Aseidu Okanta, Officer Commanding the School, expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police and the Police Administration for introducing the course.
