Member of Parliament pledges GH¢5,000 to support school project

Ekumfi Narkwa (C/R), April 25, GNA – The Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman East, Mr George Kuntu Blankson, has pledged to donate GH¢5,000 to support a Junior High School project being undertaken by the people of Ekumfi Narkwa. Mr Kuntu Blankson, the Deputy Majority Chief Whip, made the pledge at a fund raising service in aid of the project at Narkwa on Sunday.

The fundraising coincided with dedication of a pulpit donated to the Methodist Church by the children of Nana Essel Opradzi, a sub chief of the Narkwa who died in 1985. Mr Kuntu Blankson advised the people to give priority to the education of their children.

He said Edumfi Traditional Area was a poverty stricken area and that it was only education which could take them out of the poverty circle.

The MP enumerated a number of development projects being executed in the area and appealed to the people to rally behind the government and also to pray for the government to remain focused.
