Public and Civil Servants urged to manage their time

Kwahu Abetifi, April 13, GNA – Dr Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi, the Eastern Regional Minister, on Wednesday advised public and civil servants to manage their time at their work places, ensure punctuality and put in maximum efforts to enhance development in the country. He also urged then to ensure discipline by working according to the command structures and abide by the oath of secrecy and allegiance to the service.

Dr Apea-Kubi was addressing Assembly Members and Heads of Departments at Kwahu Abetifi, in the Kwahu East District, as part of his one-day working visit to the area. The minister also advised public and civil servants to put government’s time into good and effective use. Dr Apea-Kubi said some public and civil servants did not report to work on time and others absent themselves and that such practices retarded progress.

He advised them not to regard transfers as punishments but rather take the challenge to change their environment and use the opportunity to add more ideas to what they already had. After the meeting, the Regional Minister inspected some projects in the district including the road from Abetifi to Pepease that started late last year.

He also inspected a new housing project.
