Ban on noise making starts on May 9

Accra, April 7, GNA – The ban on drumming and noise making to usher in the celebration of this year’s Homowo would be from Monday, May 9 to Thursday, June 9.

A statement in Accra by the Ga Traditional Council signed by Ms Mercy Asante, the Registrar, appealed to the public to respect the ban and honour the customs and traditions of the Ga State.

It said the custom dubbed, 93Odadaw”, signifying the lifting of the ban would be performed on Thursday, June 9.

The statement said Homowo ceremonies in the various towns would be as follows: Nungua – Sunday July 3; Lante Djan We 96 Saturday, July 30; Tema Friday, August 12; Ga Mashie 96 Saturday, August 13; Osu, La, Teshie, Kpone, Prampram and Ningo – Tuesday August 23.
