Armed robber killed at Nsawam

Nsawam, April 1, GNA-One of three suspected armed cattle rustlers who attacked the people of Otu Kwadjo in the Akwapem South Municipality, died on the spot during an exchange of gun fire with a local cattle owner.

The second suspect who sustained several gun wounds, has been admitted at the Nsawam Government Hospital. The third robber bolted with in a getaway car during the gun battle leaving the rest to their fate. Superintendent Samuel Buabeng, Police Commander in-charge of Nsawam, told the Ghana News Agency that on Thursday that at about 0200 hours, the robbers attacked the people of Otu Kwadjo and went into the cattle ranch.

Supt Buabeng said while in the ranch, they exchange gun fire with the ranch owner and in the process one died instantly. The people in the area also organized and assisted in retrieving the two cows which the robbers have tied ready to transport. Meanwhile, the wounded robber has been identified as Sule, 30; from Kpone while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Nsawam Government Mortuary for post-mortem. The Nsawam Police is investigating the matter.
