Ayariga in stable condition – Dr.Ken Sagoe

Tamale, March 28, GNA – Mr Mahama Ayariga, the Deputy Minister of Education, is in a stable condition after undergoing surgery at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr Ken Sagoe, the Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital, said on Monday.

Mr Ayariga’s vehicle got involved in an accident on Sunday morning when his driver attempted to by-pass a stationery vehicle and ran into an oncoming vehicle at Nasia near Walewale.

Dr Sagoe led a team of medical experts including Dr. Thomas Anabah, Head of Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care and Dr. Akis Afoko, Surgeon/Urologist to operate on him. Dr. Anabah said the surgery was to stop bleeding and other complication= s. “Mr. Ayariga is doing well, his vital sights are normal and he is fully conscious of time, space and his person”, he said and added that “his leaving the hospital will depend on several factors and how the system works.”

He said there would be no need to evacuate Mr. Ayariga from the hospital since he was in the hands of competent medical personnel who can handle the situation.
