NPP ready to wrest power from NDC – Alhaji Bamba

Kumasi, March 7, GNA – Alhaji Mocktar Bamba, the National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed optimism about the party’s chances of winning the 2012 general polls.

He, however, called for hard work from all members and supporters of the party to ensure resounding victory. Alhaji Bamba was inaugurating the “Baby Elephant Club” made up of former supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asawasi Constituency, who had crossed carpet to the NPP, at Sawaba in Kumasi. He lashed at the Mills’ Administration for what he described as bad governance that had brought untold economic hardship to the people.

Alhaji Bamba said that explained why many NDC supporters were joining the NPP in droves to help to restore the hope of Ghanaians. He asked members of the Club to help to attract more voters ahead of the next year’s elections. Alhaji Bamba re-affirmed the party’s commitment towards ensuring th= at Election 2012 was peaceful, transparent and credible. The NPP as a mass democratic party, he said, would not resort to violence and intimidation to recapture political power. He called for vigilance to prevent cheating and all forms of election malpractices. Mr I.K. Brenya, Asawasi Constituency Chairman, told party supporters to intensify their house-to-house campaign to broaden the party’s support base.

Mr Mohammed Kasim, Chairman of the Club, said they defected to the NPP because they had lost confidence in the NDC.

He pledged they would work with their hearts out to return the NPP to power.
