Market women urged to observe fire safety measures

Nkawkaw, Feb 18, GNA – The Assembly Member-elect for the Nkawkaw Central Market, Madam Vida Koranteng Oforiwa, on Friday appealed to market women in the Kwahu West Municipality to observe fire safety measures to avoid fire outbreaks. She said since the market women contracted bank loans for their tradin= g activities they should undertake precautionary fire safety measures to protect their wares and other properties from fire.

Madam Oforiwa was addressing market women and other traders at the Nkawkaw Central Market on fire safety education programme at the various markets in the municipality being organized by the municipal fire service. A station officer of the Kwahu West Municipal Fire Service, Mr Adjei Yeboah, said fire outbreaks were caused by negligence and mistakes of the individual and urged them to properly put off all fires after use as well a= s all electrical appliances and also distant their gas cylinders from the burners.
