COGNAI to meet in Brescia

A General Assembly of the Council of Ghana Nationals Associations in Italy (COGNAI) will be held on February 19 in the city Brescia at Corso Argentina Nr. 105. The meeting, starting from 1:30p.m will focus on enlarging the Executive Board of the Council with Religious and Tribal Groups of Ghanaians in Italy and their representatives are being invited.

A statement from the General Secretary of the Council, Gilbert Abasimi, says COGNAI wants to bring on board various religious and tribal groups of the Ghanaians community in Italy towards a more effective running of the Council. Among other issues to be discussed at the meeting will be introduction of COGNAI identity card to members, the nurturing of the Ghanaian youths in Italy, programme towards Ghana’s Independent Day celebration in Italy to be hosted in Novara on March 12 and participation of the Council in a bid on development projects initiated by the European Union (EU).

It will be the first meeting of COGNAI in the year and representatives of over 17 local Associations within the Ghanaians community in Italy are expected to attend.
