Fourteen schools in Twifo Heman Lower Denkyira score zero

Twifo Praso (C/R), Feb. 15, GNA – Fourteen schools in the Twifo-Heman-Lower Denkyira District recorded zero percent in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) held in 2010. Mrs. Elizabeth Amoa-Tetteh, the Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti Morkwa and Deputy Minister of Education in collaboration with the District Directorate of Education, the District Assembly and Mr. Ben Donkor, Member of Parliament for Heman Lower Denkyira, have organised extra classes for final year basic school students in the District. Mrs. Amoah-Tetteh expressed concern over the falling standards of education in the District and advised students to learn hard to reverse the downward trend of BECE results. Mr. Joseph Foster Andoh, the District Chief Executive, said the District Assembly had instituted scholarship scheme for needy but brilliant students and appealed to teachers selected to run the extra classes to give off their best.
