Late police Constable laid to rest

Beposo (Ash), Feb. 7, GNA – The mortal remains of police Constable Y= aw Owusu Frimpong, one of the two policemen killed at Nakpanduri by the dreade= d criminal, Johnson Kombian, was laid to rest at the weekend at his Beposo hometown in the Sekyere Central District. Among the huge gathering of mourners were top raking police officers, politicians and traditional rulers.

They included Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) David Asante-Apiatu= , Director-General, Research and Planning, DCOP Ofosu-Mensah Gyeabour, Director-General, Welfare, Director-General of Services, DCOP Frank Adu-Poku, Mr David Appau-Ohyeamang, Asante-Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Ebenezer Akuoko-Frimpong, Sekyere Central District Chief Executive and the Omanhene of Beposo, Nana Boamah Kwabi IV. The Very Reverend Jonas Aboagye, Ashanti Regional Chaplain, who officiated at the burial service, reminded all to accept to do what is righ= t during their life time. “It should not be lost on you that one day you will appear before th= e judgment of your Creator to account for your stewardship,” he said. The late Constable Frimpong and two other colleagues, Constable Prince Agyare and Lance Corporal Osei Bonsu, were ambushed and shot by a criminal gang suspected to have been led by Kombian whilst on patrol duties in October, last year. Kombian fled to Togo and with the assistance of Interpol he was arrested last November and brought back to the country to face justice. He is now serving a six-year prison term for breaking jail and is yet to be arraigned for the murder of the two policemen.
