Superintendents call for review of Health Insurance tariffs

Ho, Feb. 02, GNA – The Volta Region Division of the Medical Superintendents Group has called on the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to review health insurance tariffs in place since 2008. A statement the Group issued and signed by its Chairman Dr. Kofi Gafatsi Normanyo said this was 93to prevent already suffocating hospitals from total collapse.” The Group also called for a review of the Ghana Diagnosis Related Groups (GDRG) to make them more comprehensive 93in order to prevent unnecessary huge financial losses to service providers.” “We call for payment of full cost of OPD attendance on first visit of e= ach illness episode instead of the one-third currently being paid per visit,” the statement said.
