Melisa Donkoh is dead

Takoradi, Jan. 28, GNA – Ms Melisa Donkoh, the 13-year-old girl who was flown to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital following her involvement in a tragic accident at the Kwesimintsim Cemetery, is dead.

Melisa is a cousin to Francis Pius Donkoh, 8, who also died in the same accident including Ewurakua Smith.

They were crossing the road when an articulated truck ran Over them.

Mr Chris Donkoh, an uncle who confirmed the story to the GNA, said Melisa, a pupil of Agyiba International School, lost her memory and died around 0300hours early Thursday morning.

“We wished she would have survived and join us but God knows what is best”, he added.

It would be recalled that Melisa’s condition became critical on January 14 and therefore needed an emergency care which caused the Regional Coordinating Council together with Tullow Oil to fly her to Accra.

Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, the Western Regional Minister, expressed regret at the death of the young girl adding, 93I was really shattered on hearing her passing away after all efforts to save her life”.
