Kaase-Kuwait wants the streets to be rid off cattle

Kumasi, Jan. 7, GNA – Residents of Kaase-Kuwait near Atonsu in Kumasi had appealed to the Kumasi Metropolitan Authority to act decisively to end the situation where herds of cattle had literally taken over the streets of the metropolis.

The residents said apart from huge piles of dung the animals leave behind daily, they are also a threat to lives and property. “The nuisance and inconvenience need to be dealt with”, a visibly distraught resident, Godwin Koblah, said when he made the appeal through th= e Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi on Friday. He said many a time, the road to the area, from Kaase, get clogged with traffic because of the cattle.

Mr Koblah said the KMA should make sure that the animals were relocated to bring relief to residents in the fast developing suburb. Kwame Adjei, a mini-bus driver, said at times the cattle caused accidents, especially when they suddenly cross moving vehicles. He said it was important the problem was addressed to prevent a major disaster.
