EC postpones elections in some electoral areas in Dangme West

Accra, Dec. 29, GNA – The Electoral Commission has postponed the Uni= t Committee and District Assembly elections in some electoral areas of the Dangme West District. A press release issued by the EC and signed by Mr Christian Owusu-Parry, acting Director, Public Affairs, on Tuesday, named the electoral areas as Salom, Zongo New Town, Akutue, Osukutu, Amedeka and Bungalow. The release said the postponement 93is as a result of a matter filed by Charles Mate Kole and Nene Azago Kwesitsu I, against the Electoral Commission and the Attorney General, in the Supreme Court for determination as to whether the six electoral areas belong to the Lower Manya Krobo District or the Dangme West District.” The Commission, the release said, will fix a new date for the election= s after the Supreme Court has determined the issue.
