BNI Gets New Boss

Mr Ellis Owusu Fordjuor was today appointed to head Ghana’s Bureau of National Investigations.

He replaces Mr John Afari who also replaced Mr Yaw Donkor. Mr. Afari has held the post since January, this year.

The BNI has come under fire lately for the handling of certain cases – the arrest of the former Auditor-General in a church, former deputy minister for finance at the airport, and ex-sports minister.

The ministry of the interior, however, denies that Afari’s replacement has to do with the handling of the above cases.

According to Joy FM news bulletin monitored in Accra, Mr. Afari is to be posted to the United Kingdom.
