Social Network Crime Rights Activist calls for police posts along major highways

Sunyani, Dec 16, GNA – The Brong-Ahafo Regional Chapter of the Ghana Human Rights Reporters Network on Thursday suggested to the Police Administration to establish security posts at vantage points along the country’s highways as Christmas approaches to check robbery. Speaking with the Ghana News Agency in an interview, Mr. Fred Alarti-Amoako, the Regional President, appealed to the police to also adopt innovative strategies in the fight against crime. He noted with regret about shot outs between the police and armed robbers and its attendant killings of police personnel and said the police should be well armed.

Mr Alarti-Amoako said as Christmas approached criminals would step up their activities and appealed to the public to provide the police with information about people with questionable character.
