Candidate campaigns on environmental sanitation

Kumasi, Dec 11, GNA – A candidate for the District Assembly Elections in the Anwanya-Adutwam electoral area of the Sekyere Central district in Ashanti has pledged to improve environmental sanitation of the area, if elected. Mr Opoku Frimpong, 53, a former assembly man is seeking to return to the assembly and says he would focus on health education campaign to prevent diseases. Additionally, he would make sure that electricity is extended to every part of the community. Mr Frimpong, also the acting Ashanti GPRTU Guards Commander, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that he would work hard to bring development to the people and expressed confidence of victory on December 28. He called on the people to remain united, noting that, they could not achieve any meaningful progress when they were divided. He appealed to citizens of the area living outside to visit periodically and identify with programmes and projects initiated to facelift the place.
