Student strangles daughter to death

Dzodze, Nov. 27, GNA – Dennis Dzagbana, a 17-year-old Senior High School student, is being held by the police for allegedly strangling his one-and-half year old daughter to death at Dzodze.

Dzagbana claimed he committed the crime to prevent his peers from teasing him and said they mimicked the cry of a baby when they saw him. Dzodze District Police commander Akwasi Asafo-Agyei, confirmed the story to GNA.

A family source told GNA that Dzagbana had a baby girl with his cousin Vida Amable, both residing at the same house at Dzodze- Adagbledu. It said on 23 November this year, Dzagbana took the baby into the room. The source said that when a relative entered the room, he saw the baby foaming and she was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The source said Dzagbana confessed to some family members that he strangled the baby to death.
