Foreigners in illegal mining arrested

Tarkwa, Nov. 18, GNA – -Three nationals of Burkina Faso have been fined 12,000 Ghana cedis for engaging in illegal activities. They pleaded guilty. They are Adama Salifu, 28, Fusani Kabore, 37 and Ali Yomougo 30. Prosecuting Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah said on October 23r the police had information that the three foreigners and their Ghanaian colleague, Samuel Obeng Gyan, now at large, were engaging in illegal gold prospecting at Asamang Kakraba a suburb of Tarkwa. The police quickly moved in but found only the foreigners and arrested them.
