Reverend Agborli-Adjokatse inducted as Presbytery Clerk

Odumase, Nov. 8, GNA – The Reverend Nii Teiko Dagadu, Dangme-Tongu Presbyterian Chairperson of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has challenged Ministers of the Gospel to allow the spirit of God to guide them in all that they do.

They should also live within the tenets of the Gospel and the Lord “who has called them into his service will take care of them”. Rev. Dagadu was preaching the sermon at the induction ceremony of Rev. James Agborli-Adjokatse as Presbytery Clerk and second Minister of Odumase-Krobo Presbyterian Church of Ghana, at the weekend. Rev. Agborli-Adjokatse, 62, holds a Bachelor degree in Theology from the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon.

Rev Dagadu challenged the new Clerk to build upon the toils and sacrifices of his predecessors and work in collaboration with leaders of the Presbytery, to move the Dangme-Tongu Presbytery forward. On his part Rev. Agborli-Adjokatse expressed his appreciation to the Presbyterian Chairperson, in particular, and the Church as a whole, and pledged to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him. He charged Christians and the people of Ghana, as vessels of God, to strive and lead exemplary lives.

Rev. Agborli-Adjokatse called for concerted efforts from churches, to address social vices such as armed robbery, drug peddling, internet fraud and rape, among others.

He expressed worry about the current political insults that had engulfed the nation and called on churches to continue preaching on peace.

Rev. Agborli-Adjokatse noted that, the political insults seemed to be tearing the nation apart and urged all and sundry to rather pay attention to issues relating to disease, poverty and hunger.
