Stop creating tension in the country -Alottey Jacobs tells NPP

A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Allotey Jacobs has
cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop causing alarm fear and panic in
the country. He alleged that media reports on an armed robbery gang that forced
male passengers on an inter-city bus to rape female passengers on the bus is a
concoction of the NPP to cause fear and panic in the country.

He said ‘the NPP is frustrated and desperate in opposition thus their resolve to
fabricate stories to tarnish the image of government’’. In an interview with
Radio Gold over the alleged rape case on the bus Mr. Allotey Jacobs said that
though the NPP succeeded in destroying Dr. Kwame Nkrumah with fabrications of
this nature they will fail this time around.
Allotey Jacobs stated that such fabrications will not stop or discourage
President Mills from delivering on his Promise to Ghanaians. ‘’President Mills
have a mandate to deliver on the better Ghana manifesto that shot him to power
and no amount of infantile politicking will derail his focus’’ Allotey Jacobs
said.
I want to urge Ghanaians to ignore these lies and fabrications from the
detractors, ‘’they have a penchant of using fabrications and concoctions to make
government’s unpopular, and these we must all be watchful that they don’t
succeed this time round. Mr Jacobs noted.
He warned the opposition NPP to stop creating fear, alarm and panic in the
country. ‘’What at all are they (NPP) trying to do? Their attitude to this
particular fabrication will put fear and tension among Ghanaians who want to
travel to their villages for festivals, weddings and other important occasions’’
On why he thinks the NPP is behind the story Alottey Jacobs stated that, ‘’the
NPP are frustrated and desperate thus they will go all out to tarnish the image
of government, very unfortunate indeed’’ Allotey fumed. He said ‘if you have a
party with people like Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Sir John and Akufo Addo as leaders
trust me they are desperate for political power’.
He called on the media not to interfere in the work of the security services but
help them ensure law and order at all times.
