Tema, Oct 21, GNA – The Tema Regional Office of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service has called on owners of accident vehicles parked at various police stations in the Region to remove them or have them auctioned. Superintendent of Police Daniel Ansong-Dankyi, the Tema Regional MTTU Commander, told the GNA in an interview that such vehicles were congesting the police stations. He said his appeal was in accordance with the Inspector General of Police’s directive to Regional Commanders to clean the premises of police stations of all unwarranted vehicles. Mr Ansong-Dankyi said the only option available to the Unit was to auction such vehicles when their owners failed to heed to the call to remove them.
The Regional MTTU Commander also cautioned drivers against abandoning their faulty vehicles in the middle of the road without warning triangles. He said the driver of an articulated truck abandoned the broken down truck on the road at Tema Community Nine without a warning triangle on Saturday morning, casing three accidents. Mr Ansong-Dankyi said the police had towed the truck to the Tema MTTU Regional Office. 21 Oct 10
