Ghanaian Gunned down In Newark

Newark (USA) – A 20-year-old Newark man was fatally shot by two masked men in the city’s West Ward this afternoon, police said. Teddy Owusu, also known as Teddy Slaughter, was standing in a courtyard on Mercer Street when he was shot multiple times by his attackers shortly after 12:30 p.m., authorities said. He was believed to have been their intended target.

Owusu was found by police responding to several calls reporting shots fired. He suffered several gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was taken to the University Hospital in Newark, where he later died, Newark Police Detective Hubert Henderson said.

Newark Police and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office homicide squads are investigating the incident, and have no motive or suspect at this time.
