Ahmadiyya, a partner in development

Nkoranza (B/A), Sept 20, GNA – Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum and Mr. Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor, Districts Chief Executives (DCEs) for Nkoranza South and Nkoranza North respectively, have commended the Ahmadiya Moslem sect for constructing schools and hospitals to compliment the efforts of the Government in the two districts. They explained that the efforts of the sect had demonstrated their willingness and readiness as partners to national development. The DCEs made the commendations when they joined the Ahmadiya Moslems from the two districts at their prayer centre at Nkoranza to mark the just ended celebration of the Eid-UL-Fitr festival. They noted that schools and hospitals were basic social amenities for human development and called on other religious bodies to emulate such noble example.

They pleaded with Moslems to continuously pray to promote unity, peace and understanding among the people to sustain national stability. Ustaz Abdul Gafur Saeed, Nkoranza Chief Imam, called on the youth to be law-abiding and respect authority in order to receive blessings from God. He emphasized the need for Ghanaians to rally solidly behind the government to facilitate accelerated national development. Osman Yeboah, Chief Imam of the Nkoranza Islamic Mission, urged Moslems to offer alms and support the marginalized in society especially widows and orphans to obtain God’s blessings. He advised Moslems to remain in holiness even though the Ramadan was over and eschew all forms of behaviour that would drag Islam into public ridicule and disrepute.
