Do not involve in act of vandalism – Muslim youth urged

Agona Swedru, Sept. 12, GNA – The Agona West Municipal Imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Osofo Ibrahim Acquah, has urged Muslim youth to desist from involving themselves in acts of vandalism to avoid soiling the reputation of Islam. He said Islam was a peaceful sect and it was therefore sad to note that some youth had been dragging its image into mud because of their misbehaviour.

Osofo Acquah said this to newsmen on Saturday during the celebration of the Eid Ul Fitr at Agona Swedru in the Central Region. He stressed that the time had come for the youth in Islam to stop allowing themselves to be hired by some aggrieved people to satisfy their wants or create chaos in the society. Osofo Acquah said the one month fasting and prayers must give the Muslims the new beginning in life and refrain from habits that could damage the tenets of Islam. He urged the youth to stop the habit of attending clubs and drinking bars after the fast and prayers to quicken their spiritual development.

Osofo Acquah called on the Muslim leaders to continue to pray for President John Evan Atta Mills, ministers and other functionaries for Allah to offer them wisdom and knowledge to properly govern the country to prosperity.

At Gomoa Mangoase, Musah Nana Gyedum, Local President of Alhmaddiyya Muslim Mission, said the objective of the fast was to get righteousness and God’s protection. He called on the well-to-do Muslim members to use their resources to assist the poor and orphans in Islam to free them from captivity, adding that this would let them receive blessings from Allah. Musah Gyedum cautioned the Muslims, especially the youth, to desist from getting rich overnight but strive hard to let God bless them to attain that position.
