Seven convicted for trespassing

Hohoe, Sept 8, GNA – A Hohoe circuit court has sentenced Theodore Gbone and six farmers, all of Gbi-Kledzo, for conspiring to trespass and trespassing on a piece of land that does not belong to them.

They were Paul K. Gbone, Felix Gbone, Henry Tsetse, Dorothy Tsetse, Siegfried Tsetse and Henry Kango and they were found guilty on each.

They were sentenced to a fine of 180 Ghana Cedis and 120 Ghana Cedis each to run concurrently or in default serve five months in jail in hard labour.

Assistance Superintendent of Police Benjamin Dadzie told the court that Alphonse Kofitse and the convicts were litigating over a piece of land and judgement was delivered in favour of Kofitse in 2003.

He said in August 2007, Theodore and the six convicts defied the court’s ruling and made an entry into the land and created boundary paths in it.

A report was made to the police and the convicts were arrested.
