Cape Coast, Sept. 5, GNA – Mr Samuel Appiah, the Central and Western Regional Sales Manager of MTN Ghana, on Saturday observed that, traditional leaders are agents of change and could facilitate the accelerated development of their areas when given the needed support. He stressed that the MTN believes in the rich African culture that unites people from all walks of life.
It was in this regard that his outfit decided to sponsor the Oguaa Fetu Afahye festival to resonate MTN’s core value of bringing people together.
Mr Appiah, who made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) over the weekend, said activities sponsored MTN during the Afahye Durbar were a regatta, Miss Afahye, a soccer competition as well as “Music Music”, an entertainment show, to affirm its commitment to the values of the African culture.
He wished the chiefs and people of Oguaa a fruitful festival, and was of the hope that traditional leaders would continue to play active part in the developmental process of the nation by ensuring that their people remained united.
He assured Ghanaians that MTN will continue to provide the best telecommunications services and sponsor more festivals across the country in order to promote and preserve “our rich cultural heritage”.
