Nkoranza hospital eases congestion

Nkoranza (B/A) Sept 4.GNA – The Management of Saint Theresa’s hospital at Nkoranza is constructing a storey building block to house the Out-Patient Department (OPD) and emergency ward to ease congestion at the health facility. The project, which was started last year, is estimated at GHC122,000.

Mr. Cosmos Yeboah, health officer in-charge of human resource management and development at the hospital, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the major challenge that faced the hospital was lack of space.

“At times, patients have to be admitted at the waiting hall of the OPD when the nurses and doctors find their conditions to be critical”, he said.

The health officer commended Techiman Catholic Diocese for its initial funding of the project and said the management of the hospital was using internal resources towards its completion. Mr. Yeboah called on well-to-do individuals, philanthropists and non-governmental organisations to support the management to complete the project to meet the health needs of the people.
