President donates towards Oguaa Fetu Afahye

Cape Coast, Sept. 3, GNA – The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa-Doe, on Friday presented GH¢10,000 in support of the celebration of the Oguaa Fetu Afahye of the chiefs and people of Cape Coast.

She also presented 100 tubers of yam, 10 bags of rice, 10 cartons of cooking oil, 10 bags of maize, 10 crates of Guinness, 10 crates of beer, 26 crates of soft drinks, two cartons of schnapps, four cartons of hard liquor and a cow.

She made the presentation on behalf of the state.

Present at the ceremony were chiefs, queens, members of the Afahye Planning Committee who were clad in mourning clothes in remembrance of their ancestors.

The Oguaamanhen, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II who received the items, said he was overwhelmed by the present and expressed gratitude to the President for his continued assistance to the Council.

The Regional Minister said she was grateful to the chiefs and people of Cape Coast for making her stay in the region a peaceful and fruitful one.
