MCE says COCOBOD will rehabilitate roads

Krakrom (B/A), Aug. 25, GNA – COCOBOD will soon tar a major access road linking Nkwantaso to Nkrankwanta in Dormaa Municipality to facilitate easy access and conveyance of cocoa as part of its rehabilitation of cocoa roads in cocoa districts.

Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah, Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive, said this at Krakrom near Nkrankwanta during an interaction with the chiefs and people.

He said if some farmers would still engage in nefarious activities like smuggling the crop to neighbouring Cote d’Ivoire, then the efforts by the government and agencies would not yield good results.

Mr Oppong Asamoah appealed to them to fully participate in the impending National Population and Housing Census as well as the National Identification Exercise.

He urged family heads to encourage members to register for the national health insurance scheme, adding the government’s promise of a one time premium was on course and would take effect by the beginning of 2011.

Mr Oppong Asamoah said 42 communities in the municipality would benefit from bore-holes to improve access to potable water.
